Group Finance Manager vacancy for a Manufacturing business in Kent
The Brief
Sunray Engineering Ltd in Ashford, (£15m turnover door manufacturer), were recruiting for a Group Finance Manager. Their initial plan was to advertise the position themselves in hope that it would yield a relevant candidate application. This proved to be unsuccessful and their HR Manager then instructed Grafton Banks Finance to lead the search.
Due to continued growth the business was looking for a tenacious, numerate, qualified, and experienced Group Finance Manager with a hands on, can do approach to lead and maintain the day-to-day Financial Controls of their busy Finance department.
The candidate would also need to be able to demonstrate proven capability in managing, monitoring and developing the department and ensure detailed reporting and forecasting was applied to all financial operations.
Grafton Banks Finance search included advertising, networking and headhunting for the most relevant finance professionals in the market, as well as sourcing candidates from their own database.
A shortlist of four relevant CVs was submitted and two of the four candidates were asked to attend an interview. One of these candidates was successful at interview and subsequently was offered (and accepted) the role. The whole process was completed within a period of two weeks.
The Result
Both the client and the candidate were delighted with the result. The client made the following comment on the service she received:
"Grafton Banks Finance supplied several candidates for the open vacancy, of which we narrowed it down to two candidates, one of which was offered the position. The level of contact throughout the recruitment process was very good and they kept in touch during the notice period of the candidate, which I felt was good customer service. Should we require further assistance with recruiting within the finance department, I would certainly use Grafton Banks Finance, as I found the contact efficient, timely and not overpowering."
