Finance Manager

Grafton Banks Finance are eager to connect with Charity Finance professionals seeking a new part-time role. We are supporting a local charity in the Brighton & Hove area that is looking to appoint a Part-Time Accountant on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will oversee the organisation’s financial functions, including preparing management accounts, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with charity regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily financial operations, including bookkeeping and financial transactions 
• Preparing management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and budgets 
• Overseeing payroll, VAT returns, and year-end procedures 
• Assisting with funding applications and reporting to funders 
• Acting as the primary contact for auditors 
• Maintaining accurate records of income, expenditure, petty cash, and banking 
• Supporting financial risk management and policy development

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in charity finance or a similar setting, with meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills. Experience with VAT and trading subsidiaries is highly advantageous. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
