General Practice Accountant

Grafton Banks Finance are working with a locally well-known Accountancy Practice in the heart of Brighton, East Sussex to recruit an Accountant on a 9–12-month Contract. Reporting into the Practice Manager and working within a small friendly team you will be responsible for supporting with the smooth running of various clients’ finances.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of Limited Company accounts and CT600 tax returns
• Preparation of Limited company accounts
• Preparation of CT600 tax returns
• Updating journals and finalising accounts and tax returns
• Submission of tax returns
• Personal Tax Returns
• Preparing sole trader and partnership accounts
• Preparing personal tax returns
• Preparing the director's personal tax returns.
• Preparing tax return emails
• Communication with clients regarding their taxes
• Bookkeeping and Management Accounts 
• VAT returns
• Payroll 
• Reporting to Managing Director 
• Reporting on the WIP of accounts preparation, any issues and planning of the future account’s preparation
• Meeting to finalise tax returns

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within an Accountancy practice or experience of managing various finances. You will be either ACA, ACCA CIMA Part or Qualified or Qualified by experience. You will need to have excellent IT skills to manage multiple accounting software packages alongside Excel and Microsoft Packages. You will need to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to communicate with both finance and non-finance professionals. Due to the contract nature of this finance role, you will need to be available within 1 months’ notice.
