Grafton Banks Finance are excited to be working with a rapidly growing Education organisation with offices in various locations around the South of England to recruit an experienced Finance Manager on an initial 3-month Temporary basis. Remote working is on offer. Reporting into the Head of Finance we are looking for a hands-on, experienced Financial Manager who has experience of working within the Education sector who will enjoy working alongside the existing Finance Manager, and with the team of Finance Officers, to ensure the accounts are fully prepared in advance of the statutory audit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Finance Officer’s statutory audit preparation work to ensure high quality accounts are produced for year-end.
- Ensuring balance sheet line items are valid, accurate and complete for standard areas of accounting such as Fixed Assets, Control Accounts, Bank, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Ensuring all internal reports for reporting purposes including those relating to trips, catering and capital funding.
- Supporting the team to resolve any processing backlogs.
- Reviewing and posting year-end journals..
- Support the Head of Finance and Financial Manager in reviewing and preparing the working papers to enable accurate Annual VAT partial exemption calculations for 24/25 tax year..
- Solve accounting issues that Finance Officers are unable to resolve.
- Contribute to maintain a effective, positive and supportive working environment for the whole team.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in Financial Management and be either ACCA, CIMA, ACA Qualified or QBE. You will need to have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel skills.
Due to the temporary nature of this role, you must be available at short notice. This job opportunity is offering REMOTE Working. Education Sector experience is essential.
